Eastern Region Project Planning

Southeast Nigeria Development Initiative

Project Overview

A transformative infrastructure project enhancing connectivity and economic integration between Enugu and Anambra States

Connecting Economic Hubs

The Enugu-Onitsha Expressway Expansion is a critical infrastructure project that aims to transform the 110km highway connecting two major economic hubs in Southeast Nigeria. This strategic corridor serves as a vital link for trade, commerce, and social interaction between Enugu State and Anambra State.

The expansion involves upgrading the existing two-lane road to a modern six-lane expressway with dedicated service lanes, modern interchanges, toll plazas, and advanced safety features. The project also includes the construction of four major bridges and rehabilitation of existing ones.

Upon completion, the expanded expressway will significantly reduce travel time, enhance road safety, boost economic activities, and improve the overall transportation infrastructure in the region.
